Code Of Conduct

ETGC Hoopz is committed to providing a safe, positive, and competitive environment for all participants. Our youth basketball tournaments are designed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and personal growth. All players, coaches, parents/guardians, officials, spectators, and staff are expected to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

1. Player Conduct
All athletes participating in ETGC Hoopz events must:
Show respect to teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, staff, and spectators at all times.
Play hard, play fair, and follow all tournament rules and game regulations.
Accept officials’ decisions without argument or negative behavior.
Refrain from taunting, trash talking, profanity, or unsportsmanlike actions.
Demonstrate self-control, integrity, and good sportsmanship on and off the court.
Any player engaging in aggressive behavior, fighting, or repeated misconduct may be removed from the game or tournament.

2. Coach Conduct
Coaches are responsible for setting the tone for their team and must:
Teach and promote sportsmanship, respect, and positive behavior.
Communicate with players, officials, and staff in a professional manner.
Address concerns or disputes calmly and respectfully.
Ensure player safety and uphold tournament rules.
Never use abusive language, intimidation, or physical force.
Coaches who fail to comply may receive warnings, technical fouls, or be ejected from the event.

3. Parent & Spectator Conduct
Parents and spectators play a vital role in creating a positive atmosphere and must:
Encourage all players, not just their own child.
Respect coaches, officials, and tournament staff.
Refrain from yelling at players, coaches, or referees.
Avoid negative, abusive, or disruptive behavior, including profanity or threats.
Any parent or spectator displaying inappropriate behavior may be asked to leave the venue. Continued issues may result in removal from future ETGC Hoopz events.

4. Zero Tolerance Policy
ETGC Hoopz enforces a zero-tolerance policy for:
Fighting or physical altercations
Verbal abuse or harassment
Threats or intimidation
Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or background
Damage to facilities or property
Violations may result in immediate ejection, suspension, or permanent removal from ETGC Hoopz tournaments.

5. Officials & Staff Respect
Officials and staff are to be treated with respect at all times. Their decisions are final. Concerns must be addressed through proper channels and not during live play.

6. Consequences & Enforcement
ETGC Hoopz reserves the right to:
Issue warnings or penalties
Eject players, coaches, or spectators
Suspend teams or individuals
Remove participants from future events without refund

7. Commitment to Excellence
By participating in ETGC Hoopz tournaments, all individuals agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help create a safe, respectful, and uplifting environment for youth athletes.
